Title: Mesh UV
Post by: Exassens on July 13, 2018, 12:50:56 PM
Hello !

I imported my terrain in Maya (export mesh) and there is no uv. Is it possible to have uvs when exporting ? Or is it something that is not yet implemented ?

Hi,

It's in our roadmap, but it's not implemented yet.

If you think it's an important or useful feature, please let us know and we'll update its priority.

I would second the request for UVs, these meshes are very dense and not all 3D packages can handle unwrapping them elegantly, it would be fantastic to just have a nice square 0 to 1 UV already unwrapped upon export.

Thanks for your feedback.

We'll definitely implement this feature and release it.

Starting from version 1.6, UVs are now exported when you export a terrain as a mesh.

To do so, create an "Export mesh" node and link it to a terrain node, enter a valid file name, select eith "Fbx 2016", "Fbx 2014" or "Obj", then click on the "Export now!" button.
The generated file should contain a mesh with correctly set UVs.

Please let us know if you have any issue with this node.
Thanks.
