Adding a Path node

This node is used to generate pseudo-random paths. The main use is the creation of rivers, but there are certainly other possible uses.

To add a mask Path node, right-click in the Graph Editor and select Create Node  > Mask Generation  > Path or use the keyboard shortcut N-M-P-A (Node Mask PAth).

Double click on the node to open its parameters:

Editing a Path node

To edit the Path node:

  • Mask size: Set the Height, Width, and Quad size of the mask or select a size preset from the list.
  • The Scale parameter is used to define the scale of the path. Use the slider to set the value (small value in the left image; large value in the right image):
  • The Detail parameter allows you to add more or less details. Use the slider to set the value (small details value in the left image; medium details value in the middle; large details value in the right image).
  • The Thickness parameter allows you to adjust the thickness of the path (thin in the left image; thick in the right image).
  • The Seed parameter allows you to choose a random profile for the path: each new value gives a new path.
    Different values are available from 1 to 1 000 000.

Seed Determines random profile for the path.
